These Terms of Engagement govern online legal consultations provided by Niamh Christina Gleeson, Solicitor (Republic of Ireland), Solicitor (England & Wales) and Member of the Paris Bar (Membre du Barreau de Paris, sous le directive).
By booking a consultation, you agree to these Terms of Engagement.
Online consultations are offered in relation to legal and regulatory matters concerning France and the European Union, including digital regulation, data protection, competition law and commercial matters.
The consultation is limited to the duration booked through Calendly and to the issues identified by the client in advance of the meeting.
Consultations are intended to address a specific legal or regulatory issue or a limited number of related issues. Where a matter is complex, evolving or requires further analysis, additional consultations or ongoing legal support may be recommended.
Online consultations are intended to provide legal analysis and practical guidance based on the information made available by the client at the time of the consultation.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the consultation does not include:
ongoing legal representation;
the drafting or review of documents;
negotiations with third parties;
representation before courts, regulators or administrative authorities;
written legal advice or written deliverables following the consultation.
Any additional work will be subject to a separate agreement.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the information provided before and during the consultation is accurate and complete.
Advice given during the consultation is based solely on the information available at that time.
Prior to or following the consultation, additional information may be requested in order to comply with professional and regulatory obligations, including conflict checks and anti-money laundering requirements.
Consultation fees are displayed at the time of booking and must be paid in advance through the booking platform.
All fees are stated in euros and are subject to applicable taxes.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe.
Discovery calls
Free discovery calls may be cancelled or rescheduled at any time using the booking platform.
Paid consultations
Paid consultations may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled consultation.
Cancellations made less than twenty-four (24) hours before the consultation, or missed appointments, are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of Niamh Christina Gleeson.
Information shared during consultations will be treated confidentially and in accordance with applicable professional and ethical obligations.
Niamh Christina Gleeson reserves the right to decline or discontinue an engagement where professional or regulatory obligations require this, including where a conflict of interest arises.
Booking or attending an online consultation does not, by itself, create an ongoing lawyer-client relationship or an obligation to provide further legal services.
Any continuing legal representation or ongoing legal support must be agreed separately in writing.
The advice provided during the consultation is based exclusively on the information made available at the time of the consultation.
No guarantee is given as to any particular outcome, and clients remain responsible for any decisions taken on the basis of the consultation.
Professional services are provided in accordance with the professional and ethical rules applicable to solicitors admitted in the Republic of Ireland and England and Wales and to members of the Paris Bar.
